Description:
On June 5, our crew of 5 USFWS, 1 BLM, and 2 US Air Force active duty was using the Terra Torch UTV to burn piles on Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Between 1330 and 1340 hours, while working on our ninth pile of the day, the UTV caught fire. The UTV was put out with multiple fire extinguishers and water from another UTV. One firefighter suffered first degree burns to his nose and ear. He was treated and released from the hospital and returned to work the next day.
