Description:
The Polles Fire on the Tonto National Forest was located approximately 11 miles west of Payson, AZ in the Mazatzal Wilderness. At approximately 1215, on July 7, 2020, a Type 2, UH-1H (Huey) helicopter that was slinging in supplies for ground crews who were spiked out in the remote area, crashed, killing the pilot who was the only person on board.
